The new West Inverclyde Secondary School is located beside the Ravenscraig Stadium in Greenock. This £28m project is the largest project to date (2008) completed as part of Inverclyde Council’s school redevelopment programme. The school will provide a modern learning facility for over 1000 pupils and will be the benchmark for the design of future schools in their estate. The school won The Green Apple Award for Architecture in 2009.

The project was designed to provide a stimulating education environment whilst creating a stunning architectural landmark. The School also utilises renewable energy technology, the most evident symbol being the installation of a wind turbine on campus.
