The project involved the complete refurbishment, conversion and extension of a redundant former warehouse to provide new workshops, offices and x-ray facilities for an engineering company specialising in the design and fabrication of pressure vessels and other process engineering elements. It comprised extending the existing steel framed structure which included mini-piling, foundations, drainage and a new portal frame which was clad in facing brick, composite cladding and built up cladding systems. It also included laying of fibre reinforced floor slabs laid to the very tight tolerances demanded by the new machinery installed above and also the installation of 4 large span crane beams. The existing offices were completed stripped out, reconfigured and finished to a high specification. Externally, provision was made for car parking and large concrete hardstandings.
