The works comprise the erection of a new five storey car park complete with all surrounding infrastructure and services.
The car park provides parking for 693 vehicles, with piled foundations supporting a concrete frame with pre-cast columns and contractor designed post tensioned concrete slabs. The external fascia has highest quality finishes with ashlar stone walls to the ground floor, stainless steel mesh panels alternate with panels of horizontal timber louvers to the parking decks and vertical timber cladding to the vehicle ramps.Three planar glazed steel framed stair enclosures contain quality finished pre-cast stairs and slabs with two passenger lifts providing excellent pedestrian access.
This is the first of four car parks scheduled for construction as part of the major redevelopment of the hospital currently underway.
