This project is a Format 30 Eco Store constructed in Annan, Dumfriesshire in the second half of 2009.The store was constructed to Tesco’s full eco model with a timber frame to the sales area, roof lights, wind catchers and larch cladding among the more distinct eco features. There was also a substantial road works element to this project including a new roundabout at the main entrance to the store. A statue in the image of a local fisherman was also incorporated into the landscaping on the roundabout.
Construction work started in July 2009 with a large earthworks exercise and initially did not go well due to weather however Barr Construction undertook the completion of the external works directly and completed this work on programme.
The road works were completed on programme by Dumfries and Galloway Council and the store was handed over successfully.
