Scottish Government Building Standards Approved Certifier

The Scottish Building Standards Agency is an executive agency of the Scottish Government. It is responsible for building standards regulations in Scotland.

Barr as an approved body with approved Certifiers of Design and Approved Certifiers of Construction we are able to take the responsibility for confirming (i.e. certifying) the compliance of project designs or installation work with building regulations.

• There is no need for designs to be checked or for installations to be inspected by the local authorities resulting in building warrant applications being approved quicker and cheaper (i.e 10% discount for using a ACD on a project)
• The ability to advise on alternative design options and types of materials that may enhance the finalised design and potentially reduce material costs and improve on programme timelines through improved Buildability of the project
