This project involved the construction of a new primary school, adjacent to the existing school, serving the local community of Garthamlock. The building is a steel framed structure over three storeys with an external SFS wall system and a combination of render, facing brick, larch cladding and glazed finishes. The roof was predominatly of standing seam construction with occasional areas of single ply membrane flat roofs. Internally, there is provision for classrooms, media library, staff facilities, sports hall, toilets/changing areas, kitchen, dining room and a segregated nursery area. External works included significant soft landscaping, parking areas and a full size synthetic sports pitch. Following the completion of the school the second section of work comprised of the demolition of the old school and then the formation of a new sports pitch being built on its footprint.
