The proposed wind farm development currently being undertaken comprises of 5 wind turbines, together with an underground cable network, access tracks, crane hard standings, wind monitoring mast and a small control building/sub-station. The wind farm which is designed to be monitored remotely shall have an installed capacity of 6.5MW and be connected in to the Grid via an underground cable at the village of Distington approximately 3 Km from the site.
The wind farm development is located on reclaimed open cast coal mining land belonging to Fairfield Farm which is predominantly used for sheep grazing and is approximately 1Km from the village of Pica.
